New Looney Tunes (Season 2 and onwards)/Wabbit: A Looney Tunes Prod. (for Season 1) is a reimagining of the classic Looney Tunes shorts featuring Bugs Bunny. The all-new series from Warner Bros. Animation consists of comedic shorts that find the iconic carrot-loving, mischievous, wise, and looney rabbit matching his wits against (and getting the best of) classic characters like Yosemite Sam and Wile E. Coyote, along the way, Bugs will encounter brand-new foes… and he’ll have some help from new friends like Bigfoot and Squeaks the Squirrel.[1]
Other classic characters will have their own shorts without Bugs starting in Season 2 despite Bugs appearing in other shorts such as Daffy Duck and Porky Pig.
The series was originally announced at the Cartoon Network Upfront 2014; but was then scheduled to premiere in Fall of 2015 on Boomerang. However, on Monday September 21, 2015, the series began airing weekdays on Cartoon Network at 5/4 c. The show was moved to Boomerang before going on hiatus in 2016. The show and the classic Looney Tunes cartoons are still on hiatus in the USA as Season 2 has started airing in Europe and Canada, a year later.
