NBA All Star Slam 2003
NBA All-Star Slam is a special Cartoon Network marathon that aired in 2003, 2004 and 2006. A similar marathon, titled NBA All-Star Jam, also aired in 2015 and 2016.


The marathon first aired on February 9, 2003 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm and featured 13 NBA players telling viewers about their favorite cartoon characters and introducing some of the best cartoons featuring those characters in a special marathon leading up to the tip-off of the 2003 NBA all-star game on sister network TNT. Cartoon characters featured in the marathon ranged from the Powerpuff Girls, Bugs Bunny and Scooby-Doo, to the ThunderCats, Godzilla and Yosemite Sam.[1][2]

  • Elton Brand (Los Angeles Clippers) - Space Ghost
  • Michael Redd (Milwaukee Bucks) - He-Man
  • Jason Kidd (New Jersey Nets) - The Wonder Twins
  • Richard Jefferson (New Jersey Nets) - Yosemite Sam
  • Baron Davis (New Orleans Hornets) - Droopy
  • Jamal Mashburn (New Orleans Hornets) - The Powerpuff Girls
  • Allan Houston (New York Knicks) - The Jetsons
  • Latrell Sprewell (New York Knicks) - The Flintstones


The marathon aired again with a similar format on February 15, 2004 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and featured 11 NBA players. Participants in Cartoon Network's "NBA All-Star Slam 2004" included:[3][4]

The marathon aired again on February 19, 2006 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm and featured Tommy Snider and Tara Sands from Cartoon Network's Fridays, as well as the NBA players. Also, it aired eight episodes of Ben 10.
