Kids Next Door: Mission Weekend was a special 54-hour marathon that aired on Cartoon Network from 7:00 p.m. August 8, 2003 to 10:00 p.m. August 10, 2003. Although the marathon had a Codename: Kids Next Door theme, other Cartoon Cartoons such as Dexter's Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls and Courage the Cowardly Dog were also heavily featured.[1]
There was also a game tied to the marathon titled Operation: S.T.A.T., viewers could collect clues by watching cartoons and then go to CartoonNetwork.com to play an exciting new game that continued the mission online. Throughout the weekend, the kids from Codename: Kids Next Door "spied" on their own show, dropping in clues to viewers that enabled them to assemble a broadcasting device to stop the adults from taking over the network. Viewers used these codes online to complete each level of the game. On Sunday, August 10, at 10 p.m. Cartoon Network revealed if the kids were successful in stopping the adults from taking over. Viewers that completed the mission received an honorary Codename: Kids Next Door membership.[2]
