June Bugs

June Bugs is an annual marathon of Bugs Bunny cartoons that aired on Cartoon Network and Boomerang during the month of June almost every year from 1993 to 2013. The first June Bugs marathon aired for 25-hours from June 12-13, 1993.

1993

The first June Bugs marathon aired for 25-hours from 8:00 PM on Saturday, June 12, 1993 to 9:00 PM on Sunday, June 13, 1993.

1994

The second annual June Bugs marathon aired for 25-hours from 8:00 PM on Saturday, June 11, 1994 to 9:00 PM on Sunday, June 12, 1994.

1996

The fourth annual June Bugs marathon aired for 24-hours from 6:00 AM on Saturday, June 29, 1996 to 6:00 AM on Sunday, June 30, 1996. The marathon was hosted by "Uncle Paul" (Paul Parducci), a man in a rabbit costume.

1997

The fifth annual June Bugs marathon aired for 48-hours from 8:00 PM on Friday, June 13, 1997 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, June 15, 1997. The marathon was highlighted by the premiere of a never-before broadcast 1991 short titled "Blooper Bunny". The following is a list of shorts which were aired during the marathon:

1998

Cartoon Network's 6th annual June Bugs marathon featured over 100 Warner Bros. cartoons, including some never before aired on Cartoon Network, broadcast over the course of 48 hours beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, June 19th and ending at 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 21st. The 1995 animated short, "Carrotblanca", a parody of the film classic Casablanca, highlighted the marathon (Sunday at 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.).

1999

Cartoon Network's 7th annual June Bugs marathon featured over 100 Warner Bros. cartoons broadcast over the course of 48 hours beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, June 4th and ending at 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 6th. Due to there being considerably less than 48 hours of Bugs Bunny shorts, the episodes repeated several times throughout the 2 days. The marathon was comprised of one-hour blocks, each spotlighting a genre of Bugs Bunny cartoons. The following is a list of shorts, some of which were shown in more than one theme block:

Cartoon Network's eighth annual June Bugs marathon featured 100 Warner Bros. cartoons broadcast over the course of 48 hours beginning at 10 p.m. on June 2nd and ending on June 4th. Due to there being considerably less than 48 hours of Bugs Bunny shorts, the episodes repeated several times throughout the 2 days. The marathon was comprised of one-hour blocks, each spotlighting a genre of Bugs Bunny cartoons, e.g., Musical Bugs which included music focused cartoons or Bugs and Daffy which featured Daffy Duck.

2001

In 2001, the marathon was intended to air nearly every Bugs Bunny cartoon ever made in chronological order, but Time Warner demanded that Cartoon Network pull off 12 cartoons deemed "politically incorrect" by today's standards. Due to there being considerably less than 48 hours of Bugs Bunny shorts, the episodes repeated several times throughout the 2 days.

2012

At the end of June 2012, after 10 years, Cartoon Network brought back the marathon, this time titled June Bugs Weekend for two days, but instead of the old format which consisted of airing almost all Bugs Bunny shorts in chronological order, the new format consisted of airing a mix of some of the old Looney Tunes shorts and mostly episodes of The Looney Tunes Show.

2013

On June 22, 2013 and June 23, 2013, Cartoon Network aired June Bugs Weekend again for two days with the same format from 2012.
