Captain Planet Earth Day Marathon is a special 12-hour (8:00 AM - 8:00 PM) marathon of Captain Planet and the Planeteers celebrating Earth Day that first aired on Cartoon Network on Saturday April 22, 1995. The marathon has since re-aired many times over the years on Earth Day on both Cartoon Network and Boomerang.
In 2010, on the 40th anniversary of Earth Day (Thursday April 22nd) and the 20th anniversary of Captain Planet and the Planeteers, another Captain Planet Earth Day Marathon aired on Boomerang from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM. This marathon featured handpicked episodes from the show’s six successful seasons, many of which were selected by the show’s original producers, Barbara Pyle and Nick Boxer.[1]
In 2012, the marathon was extended to 14-hours and ran on Boomerang from 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM.[2]
In 2013, the marathon was extended to 18-hours and ran on Boomerang from 6:00 AM - 12:00 AM.[3]
